Québec’s outfitters: So much more than great fishing

You don’t have to fish or hunt to enjoy a visit to one of Québec’s outfitters. A wide range of activities for the whole family is available including canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. There are sandy beaches to relax on, floating playgrounds, hiking trails, and much more. Some even have indoor or outdoor pools along with spas and saunas for unwinding after a day in the great outdoors.
With a wide variety of accommodations and activities available right on the site, outfitters offer the perfect complete package for a nature getaway. And since they are still a well-kept secret, many gorgeous spots still aren’t fully booked for the July and August vacation period.

Houseboating: An extraordinary experience

How about a getaway right out on the water, drifting off to sleep to the sounds of lapping waves? In Québec, nine outfitters – eight of which are located on the Gouin Reservoir – offer stays on a fully appointed houseboat. Designed to navigate large bodies of water with ease, these floating cottages give visitors the chance to explore the area at their own pace, according to whatever catches their fancy. Rowboats are included for paddling over to secluded bays and otherwise inaccessible areas.
Walleye and pike fishing, swimming, wildlife watching, and evenings contemplating the sunset: it’s a perfect adventure experience with a welcome measure of comfort and freedom.
